Texana Ranch quarter horses was founded in 1999 by John & Kay Atchison. They split most of their time between the big lights and traffic jams of the big city and rural hardeman county Texas. Our program began with three mares and breeding to outside stallions. In 2000 we purchased our first stud prospect, Sak Em Hombre and later that year bought our first breeding stallion in Zach Blue.

Most of our foals are raised out on range land and usually aren’t messed with much until they are yearlings. We feel like horses deserve the chance to be horses and it leads to development of a better mind on an individual horse in the future.
